CPL Gibbons, Michael A.

1/8 WPNS CO. 81 PLT

CAMP LEJEUNE, NC 28542

 Birthday – December 24

September 27, 2009 - Jerry Gibbons said that Michael arrived safely back to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on September 18, 2009 from his second tour of duty in Iraq.  He is expected to come home for a visit in a couple of weeks.  We hope he'll be able to visit Crossroads when he comes home.

.

September 4, 2009 - Jerry Gibbons said that Michael is due to come home at the end of October but that he may get to come home earlier -- at the end of September.  Pray for his continued safety and early arrival home.

August 23, 2009 - Jean Gibbons let us know that Michael will be coming home this fall.

July 29, 2009 - Michael is currently stationed in Iraq.  Pray for his continued safety

Michael attended the Crossroads youth group when we met as a church at SLHS.

Michael’s mother and stepfather live in Livonia.

His younger brother Joe (12) and his sister Jenna (10) attend Crossroads Church with their parents, Jerry and Jean Gibbons.

Michael’s dad isn’t sure how Michael decided at age 16 to go into the Marines after his graduation from Livonia Franklin High School.

During Michael’s first tour in Iraq, his marksmanship scores and his training with a 50 caliber machine gun earned his placement in the gun turret of his 3 man Humvee.  He is currently stateside at Camp Lejeune.  His next training rotation is yet unknown.

Pray that Michael will rest and enjoy his stateside rotation and that all relationships will be blessed.  We are thankful for the plan that God has for Michael’s life.  We pray for a safe tour and an opportunity to see him upon his return.
