Continued prayer for God's protective and directive hand in Phillip's life journey.
Update 05/21/2009 provided by Sandy Peavyhouse.
Phillip graduated bootcamp November of 08. He was then temporarily
assigned to recruiting responsibilities which included photos of girl scouts and the Marine Toys For Tots
program.. His family may have liked the recruiting project more than Phillip did. Phillip is now at the Marine School of infantry,
located in Lejuene, North Carolina, where he continues his training, expands his skills ,and participates in leadership
opportunities. Pray for God's protective and directive hand in Phillip's life journey.
When very young, Phillip Stevens responded to an alter call at the Brighton
Assembly of God Church, followed by his father, Rob Stevens. They did not attend that church but what happened at that
alter call changed Phillip forever.

Phillip's Uncle Mike first located Crossroads Covenant Church on-line,
got brother Rob (now in Austin, Texas) involved, which encouraged their parents, Phil and Sandy Peavyhouse, to follow and
to become important additions to our 'army'. His sister, Alex Clave, attends youth group with Michael and Kasey
Cuellar.

Phillip's decision to go into the military seems to have been made
early -- when Thomas the Train toys gave way to army action figures. He built ships and planes with Duplo Blocks and
his fields of army men were constantly reassigned and regrouped as battlefield tactics evolved.

At Crossroads, Phillip did not enter the Promiseland program with the
younger children unless he was a helper. He waited to join Fusion so he could 'enlist under unit commander
'Dave Kurt'.

|
| Phillip wanted mudbowl, camp and paintball. It was his first taste of boot camp, Crossroads' style |
|
|
|
He
left for real boot camp at Paris Island, South Carolina, on September 2, 2008 and became a Marine on November 25, 2008. Phillip is now in combat training at Camp Geiger, North Carolina
(Marine School of Infantry). "Graduates are prepared mentally,
physically, and morally for the challenges of 21st Century warfare." Although every Marine is first
and foremost a Rifleman, other MOS specialties include; Machine-gunner,
Mortar, Assalt or Anti-tank guided missles. Phillip's MOS specialty will be assigned soon. Phillips' family
is thankful that he knows who God is, that Jesus Christ is his Savior and that the Holy Spirit lives in Phillip's heart.
Please pray for God's favor on Phillip's military experience, his Christian
influence and growth, and for his complete protection.
